Abracadabra – A pupil’s academic class timetable

Big House, The – Stryfe Mansion

Bill, The – If a pupil misbehaves, they may be placed ‘On the Bill’, which means that the Headmaster or Housemaster will see them and rebuke or punish them appropriately

Bursary Brat – Pupil attending the school on a scholarship.

Cell Block – School dormitories (also known as Houses) There are 3 separate buildings in the grounds (Drummond House, Britannia House and Albion House)

Day-tripper – Day pupil, a student that does not live in

Down Below – The HCP training facility

Flying your colours – Making it obvious that you have powers – see Outed

GREET – Galactic Reception Embassy for ExtraTerrestrials, a UN-sponsored organisation

Inmate – A boarding pupil

Interrogation – Registration class, where daily attendance is taken

Leash – School ID card, capable of being tracked on school grounds

Lock Up – The time every evening when pupils have to be back in their houses.

META – Meta-human Evaluation and Tracking Authority

Meta – A mutant, someone born with powers

Newbies/Pleb – Plebeian, a first year student

Norm/Mundane – A normal unenhanced human

Outed – Someone who is publicly known to have meta-abilities

Special Curriculum – The Hero Certification Programme at the school

Squib – A new pupil who is not a first year

Ticket – Bus pass provided free if requested with a weekend pass

Passport – A weekend pass off school grounds

Prep – Work set by a teacher to be done out of school hours

Zee Crewe, The – The unpopular pupils
