Principle Staff Members / School Admin Staff:
Mr Duncan “Old Man” Summers – Head Teacher & Communications Studies

Principal Duncan Summers, despite initially training as a teacher, was an adventurous man in his youth and travelled the world. While in Asia, Duncan is rumoured to have discovered a fabulous lost treasure, but subsequently lost his parents and sister to violence back home. He dedicated his fortune to helping those less well off than himself and in recent years he has elected to open and run Claremont Academy.
His special curriculum students know that “Old Man” Summers was a superhero once, and while they don’t know which one, some of them have a pretty good idea.
Duncan Summers is in his late-50s, his black hair is starting to turn grey, and his face, while strong and handsome still, grows more lined from worry every year. His eyes are gunmetal gray and he’s always clean-shaven. He still looks quite dashing when forced into a tuxedo for society or charity parties. He walks with the aid of a cane.
Mrs Martha “Mama” Hutchins – Head of Year 6 & Home Economics (Vice Principal)

When Martha Hutchin’s granddaughter, Cassie, demonstrated her ability to fly to her entire preschool Martha and her son Charles didn’t know where to turn. META came to their rescue, introducing them to Duncan Summers. Duncan and Martha hit it off, and given Martha’s extensive experience as a school administrator, Duncan offered her a job as the school’s VP with a promise to help teach Cassie. Martha has been living on campus with her family since, watching her granddaughter grow in age and ability. Martha is unmarried but has always referred to herself as Mrs. since Charles came on the scene.
Astrid Jennings – School Administrator

Astrid is partner to Charles Hutchins (Chief Photographer on the Wessex Daily News) and is the mother of young Cassie. ++She used to work with her twin sister Laura as receptionist at Romaine Wharf for the Challenger-Wildeman family but elected to move to Claremont Academy when Cassie underwent breakthrough at such an early age. Astrid is extremely efficient as the school’s administrator. Her twin sister works in a similar role with the Challenger-Wildeman family.
– Cassie Hutchins-Jennings – aged 4 and three-quarters (currently home schooled)

Often seen flying just out of reach over school grounds, she rarely rises above 10m and always returns. Cassie’s babysitters (evenings and weekends) are either Judith Taylor (Outrage) or Jessica Prentiss (Princess) both of whom can get to her when flying and can physically deal with any super-tantrums Cassie might throw.
Judith was quite surprised to be given such a position of responsibility but is doing her best to live up to the trust that Astrid and Charles have shown her.
Ms Nadia Hussain – Special Curriculum Home Liaison Officer

Ms Hussain acts as school contact with the parents of the Special Curriculum students and monitors the bursary scheme on behalf of the foundation.
David “Dave” Dean – ICT & Student Counsellor

David Dean was a teacher at St. Thomas Aquinas Grammar School for a handful of years before the Terminus Invasion. His legs were shattered while saving students from an Omegadrone squad. When Duncan Summers heard about David’s injury, he offered him a new position at Claremont Academy as Head Counsellor. While David enjoys his job, he is haunted by the attack. He’ll sometimes spend hours just staring out his office windows, watching students with a sad look in his eyes.
His hover chair was designed for him personally by the hero Daedalus who obviously knows him personally which has led to rumours that Mr Dean also used to a superhero before his accident. The popular money is on his once being Raven which would explain why the original male Raven’s been replaced by a female prodigy.
Dr. Aubrey Lockheart (META-Assessor / Meta-studies)

Dr. Lockheart is the Ministry of Powers liaison and Independent Assessor of the school’s secret Hero Certification Programme.
She is also rumoured to oversee the selective memory wipe procedure carried out on all special pupils leaving the school to ensure that former pupil’s do not retain memories of fellow students and teachers private IDs. Agreement to undertake the procedure is apparently a condition of undertaking the special curriculum/Hero Certification Programme at the school.
Teaching Staff:
”Also” Rhan – G.R.E.E.T. Liaison (Xeno Studies)

No-one outside of the Board and Mr Summers appears to know why Rhan, an exchange teacher from the Ziru Sirka Interstellar Empire is at Claremont Academy. She teaches Xeno Studies and is rumoured to act as liaison to a Vilani noble. She is also rumoured to assist with the special curriculum/Hero Certification Programme.
Pupils enjoy her classes (especially when she brings in alien acquaintances or animals to illustrate her class) however many of the students claim that Rhan can be unpredictable and has stopped argumentative pupils by extending her head quills in a threatening manner. Although completely unconfirmed, several students claim she has fired them at students who have annoyed her before now.
Doctor Quaid “Creaky” e’Azam – Ancient Languages & Cultures

Doctor e’Azam is a strange old bird. He frequently speaks in ancient Greek or Persian to himself and ignores interruptions in class and just continues teaching. He does enjoy his classical plays, generally classic Greek or Russian pieces which he tries to persuade Rami to stage. He’s a bit dry as a teacher.
Ms Julie “Speakeasy” Hooper – Modern Languages

Polyglot who teaches French, German, Spanish, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese and Arabic
Darius “Skylark” Skyler – Mathematics

Mr Skyler is that teacher the students love to hate. Arrogant and filled with righteous self-importance, Darius teaches calculus with effortless disdain and makes going to class utter hell. He won’t just ask questions. He’ll ask the questions you can’t answer. Some students think he’s jealous of powered, but Skyler sees it as his job to teach his students never to underestimate the human mind; a weaker opponent can always beat a stronger opponent by outwitting him.
Mrs Stephanie “Hardwork” Harcourt – Physics & Technology

Not much of a teacher, but she definitely understands physics at a very deep level. Her lectures are fast and furious and she expects her students to keep up after which she will generally assign a huge number of problems to work on for the rest of class time and homework. She will then proceed to bury herself in her own research.
Mr Abed “Absent” Arnyal – Biology & Genetics

He knows his subject but his pupils feel that he can be a bit wacky and his lessons are easy derailed by disruptive students.
Leroy “Beaky” Hawke – Arts, Philosophy & Ethics

Leroy Hawke is a reformed villain. Known as Boost, Leeroy was defeated repeatedly and eventually thrown in Rannoch Secure Prison after trying to rob a security truck. For the next decade, he rearranged his priorities and participated in several “Stay Straight” programmes for kids. He proved to be a powerful motivational speaker, enough so that he did the talk show circuit for several years after his release. Eventually, Duncan Summers convinced him to work at the school, teaching kids about art and philosophy during class and meta-powered ethics and the need to treat one’s abilities responsibly to the special curriculum/HCP classes.
Mr Henry “Poet” Rhymer – Librarian & Geography

Mr Henry Rhymer is the son of Thomas Rhymer and has an identical twin brother, Shadrach ‘Shad’ Rhymer. His love is the school’s special collection of old and rare books and he can’t understand why Mr Summers allows his students access to them instead of restricting the students to only the newer, more publicly replacable books. He travelled extensively when he was younger and can talk enthusiastically about many of the countries he teaches about.
Mr Peter Herne – Modern History

Despite being extremely old fashioned (and always very polite to everyone). He is enthusiastic about his subject when he talks about it in great depth and he truly gets into the story behind the historic facts.
Mr Henry “Test-tube” Smith – Chemistry

Very unimaginative usually teaching directly from the textbook rather than doing practical experiments, leaving that aspect of classwork to Mr Andrews. Has a habit of assigning several chapters from the current textbook as homework.
Mr Jim “Perfect” Perry – English Language

Has a tendency to analyse literature down to minutiae. According to some students, he has published a book and a few short stories, but they apparently haven’t sold very well.
Ms Rachel “Gypsy Rose” Hobbes – Art Teacher

Ms Rachel Hobbes is a popular teacher if considered “wacky” for her tendency to wear gypsy-inspired clothing, her fascination with dream art and symbolic magic. She has a hand-drawn tarot pack in her desk and sometimes uses it as a teaching aid in class.
Ms Hobbes really is a descendant of the original psychic Gypsy, Rose Sylvestri.
Mr Rami “Sandals” Sendhila – Expressive Arts & Drama

Mr Sendhila heads the theatre department and teaches drama to students. He’s also busy each semester putting on a couple of plays. Although he prefers more modern musicals and plays, he is often persuaded by Doctor e’Azam to also stage more classical plays. Rami claims the theatre is haunted, and that if Duncan does nothing to silence the “impetuous” ghosts, he’ll leave. It’s not the ghosts that bother him, it’s that they don’t appreciate the artistic process.
“Hi Ho” Silver – P.E. including Meta Physical Education

Exposed to chemical fumes several years previously, Silver only operated for a handful of years as a superhero with the Wessex Warriors before she realized that she wasn’t making an impact—not on crime, but on peoples’ lives. She retired as a superhero and went to college to pursue her first passion, teaching. She’s been working as a physical education teacher ever since, though the Terminus Invasion saw a brief return to duty to help save the city. A couple of years after the invasion, she was put in contact with Duncan Summers who was looking for teachers. Silver’s been at Claremont Academy since then, and she’s become good friends with Duncan.
It is assumed by some parents and pupils that Silver was hired as part of the school’s affirmative hiring policy to integrate more supers into everyday employment.
Silver is a popular teacher known for being supportive whilst pushing her students to become the best they physically can be.
Mr Alan “Bully Boy” Blaire – Physical Education

Hard taskmaster and considered distant and aloof, in reality he really cares for his students and often works anonymously to resolve issues they might be experiencing.
Mr Benjamin “Psycho” Ben-Holmz – Psychology & Sociology

Nephew of London-based Rabbi Shallach Ben Holmz, as well as running extremely insightful classes above ground he teaches the HCP students Stealth and Subtlety, training them in the grey world of subtle manipulation, information gathering, code breaking, tracking and infiltration.
Ms Sandra “Original” Zyn – Business Studies & Physical Education

Seen as cold and distant, it is rumoured that she used to be involved with ‘Old Man’ Summers and may be the mother of Callieach Summers though none of them will confirm or deny. Believed to be an expert in a number of Martial Arts. She was an extremely successful businesswoman before giving up the business world and becoming a teacher.
Mr Ezra Jakobs – Religious Studies

A popular teacher with an extensive knowledge of world religions, cults and traditions.
Anthony “Ant/Ant-Man” Andrews – Teaching Assistant (training to be a Chemistry Teacher) & Albion Housemaster

Anthony Andrews was a recipient of a Challenger-Wildeman bursary as a student and had a reputation for being a problem pupil but his time at Claremont resulted in his feeling as though he had a home and when he graduated he asked for a job as a teaching assistant and now plans to go on and qualify as a Chemistry teacher.
Reputed to be a joker and trickster. His powers fuel his devil-may-care attitude, and there’s been little that has ever really managed to threaten him. He has a reputation with the students for pulling pranks on them as well as on the other teachers.
Mr Jamie Vervaine – ICT Technician

Very friendly and often finds himself acting as a Teaching Assistant in IT – He’s a nice enough as an acting teacher, although a bit overly interested in artificial intelligence.
Visiting Staff:
Mr Adrian Eldrich – Visiting Teacher of Alternative Studies

Mr Eldrich only teaches Special Curriculum students at the Big House (Styfe Mansion) occasionally, and little is known about what he teaches even amongst other HCP Students. He recently stopped visiting in person and now holds his lessons remotely.
Professor D. Dalus – Visiting Historian

Professor Dalus is a popular visitor to the school as the pupils really enjoy his classes – they love his ability to humanise and popularise history by discussing Pisspot Pierre’s exploits and personal experiences during the French Revolution or Galileo’s constant swearing and complaints about his aching feet and back to help put the era’s into prospective for his students who respect his storytelling ability and sense of humour.
Young Sam – Visiting HCP Specialist Instructor

Physically altered, retired member of the Balance, Young Sam specialises in teaching HCP students Combat techniques and strategies, including how to incorporate meta-abilities and powers into close quarter combat.
Navigator – HCP Specialist Instructor

Navigator is never seen above ground and is only occasionally seen Down Below, working with the more senior HCP students. She is believed to be an android from an alternate universe.
Doctor Margaret Collins – Visiting Meta Healer / Hero Britannia

Support Staff:
Nurse Alice Joy – School Nurse & Relationship Education

Nurse Joy has that special kind of touch that seems to diminish pain and make students feel better with just a smile. That is not to say she isn’t qualified. She comes from a household of nurses and doctors, so the healing touch runs in the family, as does the skill and professional attitude. She is highly qualified. What makes her even more beautiful, however, is her humble demeanour and outgoing personality.
Camille Rui – School Security

Camille is 4’6″, petite and French-Vietnamese. She is in charge of school security (usually working from the Gatehouse). Despite her size, she is extremely successful in her role and has a team of 4 other temporary staff but is the only member to live on the school premises (with her husband Dane) and is always on call.
Camille is extremely popular both with the students and staff, is always extremely polite (she seems to know everyone’s name including all of the students and always refers to them as Mr or Miss) but takes no nonsense. She appears to be extremely effective in restraining trouble which the students assume is due to martial arts training.
Jan Axei – Cafe Staff / Residential House Assistant (RA) Albion House

Maylee Kien – Cafe staff / Residential House Assistant (RA) Albion House

Orsin Bessatte – Head Caretaker

Orsin Bessatte is the chief janitor and caretaker at the academy. He keeps to himself, and mutters to himself constantly. Students sometimes catch bits of his diatribe, not enough to understand everything he’s saying, but enough to feel really creeped out. “That shouldn’t have been down there,” “Who the hell moved that door?” and “I keep telling them ghosts don’t talk,” are some of his reputed quotes.
Dane – Building Maintenance

Dane is assumed to be ex-military due to his fitness levels – appears to be in his late 50’s (and happily married to Camille who appears to be in her early 20’s which is a subject of much gossip amongst the students). He is rarely seen above ground. He generally travels through the underground tunnel network, sometimes at all hours of the night. Extremely quiet.
Dane Wilson (only a few staff know his surname – he is always referred to even by the students as just Dane) is ex-SAS and later a mercenary now retired. His technical skills have made him especially skilled in maintaining the school’s sub-basements and specialist training equipment.
Bob Harkness – Groundskeeper

Martha Edwards – Cleaner (Albion House)

Martha’s son Charles Edwards was a student at St. Thomas Aquinas Grammar School and ‘died’ in the invasion. He was a meta-human called Relentless. Both of his identities are listed on the Terminus Memorial Rock in the dorm gardens with the eight others who died that day.
In reality, Relentless was trapped during the Terminus invasion in a time loop until rescued by several pupils accidentally sent back in time. He has now been brought forward to the present day and reunited with his mother.
